The showcase home will be one of the first houses in the U.S. to use exclusively light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for all light source requirements.
In addition to participating in the LEED certification process, the EPA has selected Cleantech Homes as one of five builders in America for its new WaterSense Pilot Program (the water label equivalent to the Energy Star label for electric appliances). Accordingly, the showcase home includes many water saving techniques.

The company is currently finishing a LEED platinum showcase home in Beverly, MA (see video below and pictures on the site). The home will be open by appointment to the public for a period of six months and used as an educational center for sustainable building techniques and design as well as an exhibition site for new products and materials used in the construction of green homes. Schools, universities, architects, designers and sponsors will be invited to tour the house. Video screens located in each of the home's main areas will introduce and explain all special techniques and materials used in the construction.
